Weekend roundup

On yet another nail biting weekend, there were some results which have all but sealed certain fates.  Man City’s defeat away to Spurs means that a win for United against villa on Monday will see the premier league trophy move back across Manchester and give United their 20th title.

Losses for both Reading and QPR have almost baring a miracle resigned them both to life in the chmpionship next season, Sunderlands emphatic win over Everton has to go down to the impact of their new manager Di Canio, who is already becoming a legend in the north east.

With Chelsea drawing with Liverpool the game will be remembered for Suarez’s bite rather than his last minute goal, but also means that every game now matters between them Spurs and Arsenal who both picked up 3 points.

Cardiff City were crowned the Npower Championship winners, booking themselves a seat at Englands top table next year with Hull City needing 2 points from their last 2 games to join them.

Bournemouth and Doncaster Rover’s both need wins on the final day of the season to move upto the Championship, and Gillingham were crowned Npower division 2 champions with a 2-2 draw at home.
